You’re invited join an intensive series of interactive sessions with specialists from some of the top business schools in Europe.

As part of ESAE’s ongoing commitment to association executive education, join us for the first of two exclusive masterclasses on association leadership this spring.

This half-day session is held in central Brussels with ample time for networking over lunch.

The HEC School of Management is one of the world’s top training grounds for the innovative business leaders who challenge how we think and work.

On 17 June, you are invited to join a select group of colleagues for a one-of-a kind, insider’s look into HEC’s unique approach – giving you the tools you need to grow your association in today’s tougher economic climate.

This interactive, hands-on session will give you the understanding of HEC’s unique philosophy: tried and tested management techniques behind the leadership structure that will engage your members and your industry.

HEC speakers

Gerard de MAUPEOU, Affiliated Professor, HEC Executive Education

Sean KILBRIDE, Director of Business Development, HEC Executive Education

  1. insight into how HEC’s training prepares your association to meet the demands of an increasingly challenging market
  2. a discussion of levels of expertise on the part of professional associations and their members and boards: how much is needed?
  3. insight into designing international training programs geared to European association executives
  4. an overview of ‘value creation’ for professional associations

You’ll take away

  1. an awareness of the expertise, skills and behaviours you need to develop your association’s ‘value creation’ potential
  2. an understanding of talent development in your association and ideas on how to maximise this talent
  3. a basic knowledge of the roles of enterprise executives and association executives - and their requirements for leadership

Programme overview and background

  • Successful enterprise leaders combine a strong sense of vision with a capacity to understand the real challenges lying behind numerous contradictory facts. Leaders make immediate wise decisions and deliver results not only by themselves but also as the collective outcome of motivated teams.
  • Most organisations are in a permanent adaptation mode - reacting and anticipating unexpected events. Real leaders lead the transformation of their organisations and at the same time:

    • understand the new forces shaping our world
    • design a pragmatic innovative and adaptive ‘value creating strategy’
    • manage the day to day operation in a result driven approach without compromising with the fundamental objectives assigned by the shareholders
    • lead teams by example while empowering each employee to deliver excellence
    • address the increasingly complex requirements that maximize corporate social responsibility .
  • We’ll be talking about ‘coopetition’ - temporary alliances with competitors, a means to meet today’s global challenges. This is a new challenge, and we’ll discuss how actions need to be measured against the level of investment and the cost of alternative solutions.

We encourage you to join us.
